BIKRAM, the Original & Traditional HOT YOGA
26 Postures + 2 Breathing Exercises, most postures repeated twice. 90 minutes.
At Ohana you can rest assured that you are being guided by only the finest, hand picked, certified Bikram teachers in the city. 26 postures and 2 breathing exercises done in a 105 degree heated room with 40% humidity. Clean and well ventilated, we take pride in offering this series without being watered down or changed but authentic and pure for your maximum benefit inside and out.
Make sure to come hydrated and without a full belly, best to come at least 2-3 hours after eating. Bring a yoga costume and get ready to sweat so a change of clothes is certainly preferred. We rent mats and towels or feel free to bring your own, keep in mind, a fresh shower towel too. There is filtered water so you can always fill your water bottle up when you get here. The rest is just showing up, bonus if you are wearing a smile or at least leave with one.
26 Postures + 2 Breathing Exercises, most postures held once only. 60 minutes.
Our Hot Express class is very much a hatha based practice with full essence of the authentic Bikram series however, shortened to a 60 minute version. It is highly recommended for daily practitioners only as the tempo is meant for more of a maintenance to your practice with less time for the party time water breaks. Still 26 asanas and 2 breathing exercises but most of them only held once.
This dynamic, physically demanding practice synchronizes breath and movement to produce an internal heat designed to purify the body. Ashtanga yoga, with its many vinyasas, is great for building core strength and toning the body. Prepare to sweat as you briskly move through a set sequence.
Suitable for everyone from beginners to advanced, our Ashtanga class is an introduction to the primary series sequence, and the breath/posture combination that makes this series such a powerful and transformative practice.
Best to attend a series of these classes.
Yin-Yasa is a combination of Yin yoga and vinyasa (Yang) yoga. Each class begins with Yin poses, targeting the deep connective tissues of the body, mayo-fascia, ligaments and tendons, creating space within the joints and opening meridians, and then moves into a vinyasa practice building strength and flexibility in the muscular system. It is a dynamic series that includes Pranayama and focuses on alignment with room for play open to all levels.
For the perfect balance for your Yang classes, find stillness and release in long held poses that open up and strength deep into your joints. Perfect to aid in recovering from an injury or to simply aid you to having the best sleep of your life. Classes are honoured with sound healing music and occasionally live music for the utmost peaceful surrender of all tension.
A series of postures or asanas which are synchronized movements with the breathe, strung together by our certified teachers inspired and trained within a variety of approaches from Iyengar, Ashtanga, Sivananda, Jivamukti to Hatha and Kundalini.
Each teacher has their own channel of expression so it's best to read up on the particular teacher for more insight.
Each series of session will be listed in ages group most suitable. It is best to attend the class as a series, pre-registration is recommended and we inspire parents to join if they want for no extra charge. Yoga is natural wellspring for children: enhancing self awareness, as well as their memory and concentration abilities. This particular class is inspired by the stories and lessons of the Montessori philosophy and principles offering the children lessons of wisdom, peace, and inner strength.
